Employers have nominated UTS among the top four university careers services in the country.
UTS was the only NSW university nominated in the Best Careers Service for Employers category of the 2008 Graduate Recruitment Industry Awards presented by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers Ltd (AAGE). AAGE is a not-for-profit group that supports organisations recruiting graduates.
Manager of the UTS Careers Service Malcolm McKenzie said AAGE had asked employers which university careers service provided the best service during 2008, giving them a choice of 39 institutions.
"Although we weren't in the winner's circle for the award, which went to Victoria's Monash University, it was great to get that kind of feedback from employers," Mr McKenzie said.
"Most major companies utilise university careers services – some of them go to every university in the country looking for top graduates.
"It's good news for our students and confirms UTS's reputation amongst employers for producing graduates with strong practical skills, good business acumen, analytical skills and hands-on experience in industry."
