Swiss-based Australian entrepreneur George Koukis (DipTech Commerce ’79) returns to UTS to share his remarkable story as founder of pioneering technology company Temenos at a special Meet the Entrepreneur event at the UTS Business School.
After arriving in Australia in 1971 with only a few pounds in his pocket and speaking barely a word of English, George Koukis went on to found the global banking software powerhouse Temenos. Today, more than 2,000 firms around the world, and 41 of the top 50 banks, use Temenos software, and it is Europe’s fourth largest software company, with a market capitalisation of more than US $5billion.
As a passionate businessman, philanthropist and advocate for fostering future leaders, George will be share his insights and learnings in conversation with UTS Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Innovation and Enterprise) and former IBM Chief Technologist, Professor Glenn Wightwick.
