We look forward to switching on the electric planet, thriving on accessible and reliable energy, whilst pushing emissions ever closer to nil. Could that energy come from hydrogen? What are the prospects for solar and wind? Is there a transition path the community can accept – and a vision for the future we might embrace?

The 2016 Lecture will take the form of a Keynote Address and Panel discussion, hosted by the Powerhouse Museum and moderated by Arup Principal Dr Richard Sharp. The Panel brings together a breadth of perspectives including technical, social, entrepreneurial and governance opportunities and challenges.

The Keynote Address will be presented by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO, who has an extensive science background as an entrepreneur, engineer, neuroscientist and educator.

Presented by the UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT, the Zunz Lecture Series was named in honour of the work of Sir Jack Zunz, a brilliant British engineer who led the design team on the Sydney Opera House as a partner of Sir Ove Arup.
